Top animal films to binge this Christmas

It’s nearing the time where the weather has turned, the nights draw in during the afternoon and snuggling on the sofa with family and pets is the only place we want to be. Although this year might mean we don’t get to see as many family members as we would like, what we can do is all sit down and watch the same films. We’ve put together our top 10 list of family-friendly and animal orientated films to watch this Christmas.

1. Lady and the Tramp

The classic. We don’t endorse giving puppies as presents for Christmas, but this updated Disney classic has got it all. Mongrels, pedigrees and making us wonder what our dogs really talk about behind our backs.

2. Grumpy Cat’s Worst Christmas Ever

For those with a more cynical outlook on Christmas, Grumpy Cat is overlooked in a mall pet shop before a little girl completely changes his world and outlook on Christmas. Bringing joy to anyone this year!

3. How the Grinch Stole Christmas

The Grinch is a must for most every year. The hero of the tale obviously being Max, his four-legged companion. Probably the scariest for little ones,, but of course with a happy ending!

4. Cat in the Hat knows a lot about Christmas

Is there anyone who hasn’t had Dr Suess in part of their life? In the first Christmas special of The Cat in the Hat series, they’re all taken on an adventure to help the lost reindeer find his way home.

5. Marley and Me

If you haven’t read the book, get the tissues ready. A true story with all of the most relatable issues and blessed moments of bringing a dog into the family.

6. Felix the Cat Saves Christmas

Another great one for the younger members of the family. Felix is against the evil professor to stop the biggest blizzard ruining Christmas!

7. A Golden Christmas

A tale of an unwanted situation where someone can’t help but fall in love with a dog. A pooch that brings two people together and ends all rivalry!

8. The 12 Dogs of Christmas 2

Conscious of the meaning of Christmas and giving back, Emma is unwilling to let the dogs lose their home. By putting on The 12 Dogs of Christmas Show the community come together to help fight and earn the money to keep the farm.

9. The Nine Lives of Christmas

Of course, our list wouldn’t be complete without a true adoption Christmas story. With a young bachelor without a care in the world takes on the responsibility of looking after a cat, his outlook is changed for the perfect love story emerges.

10. The Snowman and the Snowdog

A classic remade. The Snowman and Snowdog are built by a little boy and come to life at night for magical adventures. With an aesthetic matching the original film, a great way to reminisce and share with younger generations.

We want to wish everyone a very merry (and safe) Christmas! We hope you all gift your pets an extra cuddle and ear scratch on Christmas day and keep an eye out for mischievous noses near the turkey!
