Meatiful: Who are they and why do we love them?

Recently we've started stocking Meatiul and it’s gone down better than a cat with cream!

(Saying that - we don’t advise giving your cat cream!)

Meatiful are a British business based in Lancashire that produce high quality, single source protein for dogs. It’s rare for a company to specialise just in ‘wet’ dog food, but that’s because they’ve got it spot on!

Currently Meatiful creates food in three top flavours - Salmon, Chicken and Duck. Each responsibly sourced to ensure the best ingredients are going into our pet’s food. Scottish Salmon with brown rice and carrots has the protein punch with a rich dose of omega 3 too. Free Range Chicken shows these guys care about the quality of the meat we feed our animals as much as the sources welfare and (the current favourite for the POTP testers) Duck with mixed vegetables, which makes feeding time feel incredibly luxurious.

What we love most about Meatiful:

●     British made - Better for our environment!

●     No nasties - No fillers or chemicals we don’t want our dogs eating

●     Good for all ages - From puppies to seniors, with no ingredients we wouldn’t consume ourselves Meatiful can be fed to anyone

●     Hypoallergenic and Gluten Free - No harmful reactions!

●     Vet Approved - Assurance that it’s healthy for our beloved companions

●     Transparency - Their website tells us all the ingredients and sources, so no black sheep here!

These sausages are easy to cut and pair with dried food, but it doesn’t need to be and makes an easy crossover for those feeding a raw diet. No messy jelly or gravy either, just good quality meat with a small proportion of rice and veggies to bring it together. As the percentage of meat clearly outweighs any other ingredient, once opened, they do need to be kept in the fridge. But they do have a long enough shelf life if you did want to keep them for a special meaty treat!

As a single source protein we can trust that our dogs are getting the best. Most wet foods have a combination of protein sources, so although we think we might be giving a dog high quality, it might be mixed with a cheaper meat that isn’t as good as we would hope for. This is also great for those dogs who suffer from meat allergies because we transparently know what we’re feeding them!

And finally, although difficult to determine sometimes, we’ve independently tested this with one of the fussiest members of the POTP clan and we can confirm that this is the best tasting food!

For a dog that turns his nose up at many dog foods and even some human grade food, he’s never been known to spin so many circles or become so active at feeding times. After returning to his bowl several times just to check that he has eaten it all, we know that this is the best tasting food out there.

So Meatiful gets 5 stars from us. Tried and tested this food is going to be difficult to compete with.
